How to Pamper a Guinea Pig

Guinea Pig appreciation day happens every July 16 and it’s a great day to show your little one some extra affection. In the spirit of the day, here are some ways to pamper your pig and make him feel extra special.

• Create some new enrichment. Make an obstacle course with tunnels and things to climb and place it indoors or out for a fun new experience.
• Give your guinea pig a special meal featuring some of his favorites.
• Make it a spa day! Give your guinea pig a bath, trim his nails and brush out his fur.
• Go for a walk. Let your guinea pig experience cool grass and a shady spot.

If you’re not a guinea pig owner, you might be reading this wondering what makes them so special. Here are some of the reasons why guinea pigs make great pets.

• They may be the cutest creatures on the planet.
• Guinea pigs are considered low maintenance because don’t need daily walks or even regular grooming. Like all pets though, they need love, food, water, enrichment and exercise.
